Introduction
Founded in 2021, Hittawanin combines Finnish traditional music with electronic sounds, Arabic influences and Turkish rock psychedelia. The band's music has also been called Outlaw-Kalevala. Hittawanin's danceable and wild tunes have garnered critical acclaim. Previously released singles have been played on Spotify's official Suomi-indie tänään playlist, in Yle special programs and on Radio Helsinki.
The debut album Vaka Vaka, released in November 2024, was released in collaboration with KordAva Production, which focuses on the music and culture of the Middle East and North Africa. The album was mixed by Mikael Hakkarainen.
