Introduction

Vilma Talvitie is an ethnopop artist, multi-instrumentalist and performing artist who tours the world as a one-woman band. Her music bridges the gap between pop, ethno and folk music. Vilma's songs deal with the light and distortions of the human mind, grab shame by the horns and dig skeletons out of closets.

Vilma's hypnotic live concept "PianoBodyPercussion" combines vocals, piano keys, lid and interior, body rhythms, percussion and dance-like movement. The artist sings her opinion-making songs with a hopeful tone and a clear voice that draws strength from Finno-Ugric singing traditions.

Over the past ten years, Vilma has toured 30 countries on four continents, performing and studying music from local musicians. Vilma has organized the Ethno Finland music camp in Finland since 2005, and has also acted as a mentor at several Ethno camps around the world (including Ethno Estonia, Ethno Bulgaria).

Vilma's debut album "Mistä mihin" was released in October 2023. Previously, Vilma has released three albums with her band Valma & Varsinaiset (2012 Tuli talvi, ei tahottu; 2015 Jalat alta; and 2018 Laulaja vailla ääntä).
